The short version
Deleting your verification record means AuthenticateMe can no longer confirm or support your previous verification. As a result, you may be removed only from Discord servers where you previously completed AuthenticateMe verification successfully. You will not be removed from servers where you did not successfully verify. This is not a permanent ban, and you may rejoin and verify again, subject to the individual server's rules.
What deletion means
You may request deletion of personal data held by AuthenticateMe. You do not need to waive any privacy right, accept a permanent ban, or agree to an unrelated condition before a valid deletion request is processed.
Deleting the data that supports your verification also deletes the basis for your AuthenticateMe verification status. AuthenticateMe can no longer confirm or support a previous verification after the underlying verification record has been deleted.
Verification status and servers
Deleting your verification record revokes the verification status supported by that record. Access that depended on the status may therefore be withdrawn.
- You may be removed only from servers where you previously completed AuthenticateMe verification successfully.
- You will not be removed from servers where you did not successfully verify through AuthenticateMe.
- The removal is an operational consequence of deleting the verification record, not a punishment, penalty, waiver, or condition on your right to request deletion.
Each Discord server controls its own membership, access, permissions, and moderation decisions. Server owners may independently decide whether you may join, remain, or rejoin, and AuthenticateMe does not override those decisions.
How to submit a request
Join our Support Server, open a private support ticket, and identify the Discord account whose data you want deleted. Do not post personal or account information in a public channel. No special declaration, screenshot, waiver, or agreement to the practical consequences is required.
Confirming your identity
We may ask for limited additional information where reasonably necessary to confirm that you are the person associated with the requested data. Any explanation of the practical effects of deletion is informational and is not a waiver or a condition on your privacy rights.
AuthenticateMe will never ask for your Discord password, authentication code, backup code, or unrelated account credentials as part of a deletion request. Do not send these details to us.
What happens after submission
After we receive a valid request and complete any identity check that is reasonably necessary, we will handle the request without undue delay and within the period required by applicable law.
When the verification data is deleted, the related AuthenticateMe verification status is revoked because it can no longer be supported. You may then be removed only from servers where you previously completed AuthenticateMe verification successfully. The request does not remove you from servers where you did not successfully verify and does not, by itself, create an AuthenticateMe ban or blacklist.
Information that may remain
The right to deletion is not absolute. Where permitted or required by applicable law, AuthenticateMe may retain limited information that is reasonably necessary for:
- complying with legal obligations;
- establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims;
- investigating serious fraud, abuse, security incidents, or misuse; or
- protecting the rights and safety of AuthenticateMe, participating servers, or other users.
Any information retained for one of these separate purposes will be limited to what is reasonably necessary and kept only for as long as the purpose or applicable law requires. It will not continue to be used as an active verification record or to support the deleted verification status.
If we cannot fulfill a request in full, we will explain where applicable what information must remain, why, the legal basis or permitted reason, the expected period or the criteria used to determine it, who may receive it, and how you can contact us about the decision. More detail is available in our Privacy Policy.
Using AuthenticateMe again
Requesting deletion does not permanently ban you from AuthenticateMe. You may rejoin a server and complete verification again, subject to that server's rules, permissions, and moderation decisions. An independent server restriction, such as a server-specific ban, may still prevent you from joining or using that server.
A new verification creates a new verification record and results in new personal data being processed under the Privacy Policy in effect at that time.
